Cost per Click (CPC)

Cost per Click (CPC) is the amount paid by an advertiser to a search engine or other Internet publishers for each and every time an advertisement viewer makes a click on a link in an advertisement. This click transfers the particular viewer to the advertiser’s website.

The CPC may vary for search engine and for the advertiser, in line with the popularity on the keywords, along with the basic selling price that search engines (Google, Yahoo) charge. The more popular the keyword, the more expensive the pay per click with the advertiser and the more funds the search engine makes.

The Cost per click for a search engine is different for every single keyword or pair of keywords, depending on the popularity of not only the keyword, but of the search engine. While there are various search engines that provide pay per click traffic services, the most popular are Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing and advertising, and MSN adCenter, and the cost per click for these popular websites are usually higher than for smaller websites.
