Social Media Marketing (SMO)

Social media optimization (SMO) refers to the creation of online content that is likely to be shared through social networks. Social media optimization is more art than science, as it can be difficult to come up with a consistent formula for creating shareable content. SMO is becoming more and more important factor in SEO, as search engines are building the recommendations of users of social networking sites.

SMO can be refer as the use of a number of social media channel s and communities to create publicity to increase the awareness of a product, brand or event. Types of social media include RSS feeds, social news and bookmarking sites.

It’s clear that SMO is different from SEO, which is also an important factor in SEO strategy. Social media optimization is optimizing your website and content to be as socially-shareable as possible.
